2023 PADV Thanksgiving Events

Our inaugural dinner, held with new partner Project Renewal on November 12th, was a resounding success. MSF members Kristina Power and Kevin Singleton Jr. graciously assisted in setting up and serving, while entertainment by Piccadilly Puppets, a nonprofit dedicated to using puppetry for good, brought smiles to guests. Puppeteer Lorie Summers delighted with a performance of Foxy Christmas, complementing the mouthwatering feast expertly crafted by Stephanie Smith of Sassy Kitchens. The menu featured baked ham, macaroni & cheese, vegetarian broccoli casserole, green beans, cornbread muffins, apple crisp, and delectable chicken and sausage gumbo. Alongside, MSF partnered with Lantern’s Way to provide thoughtful gifts including yearly planners, Soup for the Soul word puzzles, blankets, and hygiene items for women and children.

The annual PADV Thanksgiving events on November 17th and 18th were equally heartwarming. Attendees were treated to a delicious spread of baked turkey, vegetarian broccoli casserole, green beans, cornbread muffins, apple crisp, and assorted beverages. Continuing our partnership with Lantern’s Way, we ensured every attendee received thoughtful gifts, including yearly planners, inspirational word stones, blankets, and hygiene items. MSF team members Rah Singleton and Margurite Joseph contributed to the November 17th event, while on November 18th, MSF teammate Deon Singleton, alongside dedicated volunteers Derane and Nia Walton, lent their support. Puppeteer Rachel Frawley's performance of Twas the Night Before Christmas added an extra layer of joy and festivity to both evenings.

As we reflect on these heartwarming gatherings, MSF is grateful for the opportunity to expand our Thanksgiving dinners and eagerly anticipates next year's events, where we'll continue to spread warmth, kindness, and gratitude within our community.
